Rational Points

This course is about rational points, broadly speaking — in particular, we will talk about local-to-global principles and obstructions to them (e.g. the Brauer-Manin obstruction), explicit methods, decidability questions, heights, and open conjectures, among other topics. Topics will be dictated in part by student interest. For the first part of the course we will be very loosely following Poonen’s book on the subject.

The class takes place from 935-1050am in Boyd 322 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
